I have been with Flight World since 2000 and found the quality of the school and their fleet of aircraft to be top quality.  I received both my private license and my instrument rating through Flight World and found their instruction to be very comprehensive and I was able to pass my check rides with the FAA on the first try due to the excellent training that I received.  The fleet of aircraft at Flight World have always been in great condition.  They have a very rigid maintenance routine which keeps the aircraft flying and safe.  Their new fleet also have all of the latest avionics including flat panel displays in the Saratoga which provide a lot of information.  I have always felt very comfortable with the performance of the aircraft in the Flight World school.

The facilities at Flight World are also excellent.  The indoor hangars provide a great environment for preflight when the conditions outside are cold.  In addition, you don't have to worry about preheat of the aircraft or digging out after a snow.  Keeping all of the aircraft indoor, extends their life and provides conditions normally reserved for corporate jet flight departments.  Finally, the classroom facilities are also very nice and provide a great learning experience.

I started my private pilot instruction at another flight school at PWK.  At a friends recommendation, I changed schools to "Flight World" and continued my instruction with Jason Unger, CFII.  I have found the school to be professional with an emphasis on safety and a unique personalized approach to its students and renters. From a students perspective, the instructors are there to teach others to learn to fly or explore advanced certificates, rather than building hours as a stepping stone to the airlines. In my opinion, this is the best school at PWK.

When I decided to pursue my dream to learn to fly airplanes in 2005, I felt that the decision about which flight school to work with was very important as I was putting an extraordinary amount of trust in the aircraft and the individual instructor.  So I asked others for help and I was referred to Flight World as being the best place to learn to fly in the Chicago area. I think it was one of the best referrals I have ever gotten in life!

My goal was, and still is, to learn everything I can to become the best pilot I can be. Learning to fly at Chicago Executive Airport has permitted me to experience a wide variety of airspace and airports within a 50 mile radius.

I was impressed in my initial conversation with Gregg Orsinger, Chief Pilot, by his enthusiasm and his commitment to help students and pilots at all levels advance their aviation skills. The style and quality of the instruction I have received has been truly outstanding. I have earned my private pilot certificate and have gone on to earn my instrument rating and then my multi-engine instrument rating through Flight World. I have found the instructors flexible so that I was able to train around my schedule and achieve my goals within a very reasonable amount of time.

Jason Unger CFII, has been my primary instructor throughout my training.  He is a gifted professional with a passion for flying, excellent piloting skills, and effective techniques for teaching and developing his students. He has always kept his cool in those stressful moments when I was less than 100% certain I could do what was being asked of me. He has the ability to effectively encourage me while critiquing my performance in such a way that I can improve my skills and techniques and make progress. I have never had any doubt that he was the best instructor for the job.

The airplanes in the fleet are equally impressive. Each are great airplanes, they are well maintained, reliable, and equipped with all of the instruments needed to fly safely locally or cross country under instrument flight rules. Online scheduling of aircraft and instructors is easy and convenient. I regularly rent aircraft from Flight World and utilize the instructors to maintain my proficiency and skills. I attend Flight World’s monthly safety seminars and appreciate the timeliness of the topics covered and the information presented.

I now travel around the country several times a year and take the opportunity to fly with other instructors in different aircraft. This gives me a solid basis for comparison. I remain grateful for having learned to fly so proficiently at Flight World.

I recently came to Flight World this summer looking for a fair, affordable place to rent.  The minute I stepped in the door and met Gregg and Jason, I knew this was the place for me.  Everyone is not only professional, but also very friendly and approachable.  The Archer is maintained impeccably; both the interior and exterior are kept spotless. It also comes equipped with dual Garmin 430s, an S-Tec Autopilot/Flight Director, and air conditioning.  The price is extremely reasonable considering everything that comes with the plane!  Keep up the great work!

In 2003. after a long hiatus from flying, I began recurrent training several times, at several schools – each time being disappointed with lack of personal attention and/or relatively old aircraft.  Fortunately, I was ultimately referred to Flight World where Jason Unger gave me his dedicated attention.  He is the best Instructor I have experienced, and my log reflects more than 10 instructors.  Professional, dedicated to teaching (not just accumulating hours), and very personable too!  The aircraft are all perfectly maintained and spotless; I would recommend Flight World for Instruction – no matter what you have seen in the past.

Flight World provided me the opportunity to earn my pilot's license flying in safe new elaborately equipped planes including GPS, training with seasoned flight instructors and learning to fly in very busy complicated airspace. All the tools and training I need to pursue my passion for flying anywhere in the country.
